I'm Ashia Carpenter, a lifelong dancer, dedicated teacher, and proud owner of Divine Dance Studio. My journey through the world of dance has been filled with inspiration, dedication, and a commitment to nurturing the love of movement in dancers of all backgrounds. But, like many others who share my passion, I've faced the frustrating challenge of finding dancewear that truly represents the beautiful diversity of our dance community.
Growing up, I often struggled to find dance clothes that matched my skin tone. I felt unseen and unheard as a young black dancer. The limited range of shades and styles available did not reflect the rich tapestry of colors and cultures that make dance such a universal language.
That's when I decided to take matters into my own hands. Divine Dance Wear was born out of the desire to create a dance wear line where every dancer, regardless of their skin tone or background, can find products that make them feel seen, confident, and beautiful. Our mission is to make dance wear that celebrates and empowers dancers of all ethnicities, bringing more inclusivity to the world of dance.
